Bovikalc Calcium Bolus for Cattle Bovikalc Calcium Bolus for Cattle
Bovikalc Boluses are available in 4 x 190g Bolus containing 43g of Calcium
Ideal to use for milk fever in cows before and during calving

Reducing the risk of milk fever, That’s the beauty of Bovikalc®

Bovikalc® delivers a massive 42g of available calcium in each bolus:
•Calcium chloride (fast release).
•Calcium sulphate (slow release).

Each bolus also has an acidifying effect, much like a DCAD diet has, which helps the cow to mobilise her own calcium reserves.

The bolus dissolves in the rumen within 20-30 minutes and helps to raise blood calcium levels over a prolonged period of time.

TO BE USED IN DAIRY COWS AT RISK OF DEVELOPING MILK FEVER, ESPECIALLY IN HIGH YIELDING, OLDER DAIRY COWS AND THOSE INDIVIDUALS AT INCREASED RISK. CONVENIENT WITH PROVEN EFFICACY, THAT’S THE BEAUTY OF BOVIKALC®

For reduction of the risk of milk fever:
•1st bolus at the first sign of parturition.
•2nd bolus immediately after calving.
•If necessary, give 1 or 2 additional boluses at 12–15 hour intervals.

For supplementation following calcium injection:
Bovikalc | Reducing the risk of milk fever in dairy cows
•1st bolus 2–3 hours after calcium injection.
•2nd bolus 12–15 hours later.

Provided that cows can raise their head and are starting to eat and drink. Only administer Bovikalc® using the approved applicator.

Copasure 24g Cattle Bolus Copasure 24g Cattle Bolus
Copasure 24g is indicated for the prevention and treatment of copper deficiency. A proportion of the administered copper oxide lodges in the abomasum of the treated animal. This provides a sustained-release source of copper for absorption from the gut. This steady supplementation ensures adequate copper status but avoids the sharp rises in copper levels which can be associated with copper toxicity.

Copasure 24g capsules are administered orally. Place the capsule at the back of the mouth, beyond the hump of the tongue, using a suitable dosing gun (e.g. the Copasure 24g cattle dosing gun). Normal swallowing movements should allow the dose to be passed easily into the back of the mouth. Always check that the animal swallows the capsule.

Rumbul Cattle Bullets 40g Rumbul Cattle Bullets 40g
Rumbul Cattle Bullets are for the prevention of hypomagnesaemic tetany in sheep (30kgs+). Dosage: 1 bullet per animal/2 days prior to expected period of risk, eg. After lambing or transfer to new grazing. 2 bullets per calf (50kgs+). One treatment should prevent a serious reduction in blood magnesium concentration for at least 3 weeks.

Rumbul Rumen Bullets are moulded metal cylinders of a magnesium/aluminium/copper alloy (86, 12 and 2% respectively) weighted with iron shot. Bullets intended for adult cattle (2.5 cms dia. x 7.6 cms length) each contain 40 g magnesium. Smaller bullets (1.9 cms dia. x 4.6 cms length) each contain 15 g magnesium and are intended for adult sheep or calves. After swallowing they lie in the reticulum or at the base of the rumen and break down, releasing magnesium continuously by electrolytic action (which prevents the formation of insoluble deposits), throughout their active life. The iron shot is eliminated in the faeces of the animal as small discrete particles.

Uses
Rumbul Rumen Bullet 40g (and 15g) Continuous Release Intraruminal Device Cattle (sheep/calves) are intended to be used as an aid for the prevention of hypomagnesaemic tetany in dairy cows (of at least 300 kg bodyweight) and sheep (of at least 30 kg bodyweight) during the high risk period associated with the grazing of rapidly growing spring grass after lambing. They may also be used for suckling calves (of at least 50kg bodyweight) where the diet is predominantly milk.

Dosage
Dairy cattle
Two Rumbul Rumen Bullets (40g) should be given to each animal two/three days before the expected period of risk, e.g. before transfer from indoors to grass in the spring. If necessary, dosage should be repeated after four weeks.
Only to be given to cattle of at least 300 kg bodyweight.

Sheep
One Rumbul Rumen Bullet (15g) should be given to each animal two days before the expected period of risk, e.g. after lambing or transfer to new grazing. If necessary, dosage should be repeated after three weeks.
Only to be given to sheep of at least 30 kg bodyweight.

Calves
Two Rumbul Rumen Bullets (15g) should be given to each animal. One treatment should prevent a serious reduction in blood magnesium concentration for at least three weeks; thereafter, dosage should be repeated if the calf is still receiving a predominantly milk diet.

Only to be given to calves of at least 50 kg bodyweight.

Bolus' are adminsistered orally by placing both the bolus and capsule at the back of the mouth, beyond the hump of the tongue using a suitable dosing gun. To avoid injuring the dosing gun should be used carefully without force.

20 applications per box

Tracesure Cu/I Cattle Bolus Tracesure Cu/I Cattle Bolus
For catlle over 200kg. Copper, selenium, cobalt and iodine delivered as a single dose.

Tracesure Cu/I is a ruminal bolus for cattle, providing slow release supplementation of copper, iodine, selenium and cobalt. Where dietary intake of copper, iodine, selenium or cobalt is low, or where utilization of iodine is depressed by forage goitrogens , or where forage has a high molybdenum content, the health and productivity of the animal may be improved by supplementation of these elements.

Low copper intake gives reduced growth, depressed immunity and poor reproductive performance. If left unchecked, it can lead to anemia, lameness and thin, scouring, even dying animals. Copper deficiency is caused by either low copper content (primary deficiency) or high molybdenum, iron or sulphur content (secondary deficiency) in forage.

Goitrogens are substances commonly present in brassicas (cabbage family), soya and in linseed meals, beet pulp and sometimes in pastures, which reduce the efficient utilisation of iodine in maintaining thyroid function. The thyroid gland produces hormones which control metabolism. Iodine deficient stock may suffer from reduced fertility (anoestrus, sub-oestrus), poor weight gain and general ill thrift, late abortion/stillbirth/perenatal mortality, reduced milk yield and quality, metabolic disorders as well as an increased susceptibility to infectious disease, scours, BRD and parasitism.

Selenium deficient stock may suffer from white muscle disease, increased still births and depressed fertility.

Cobalt deficient stock may have depressed appetites and/or show signs of general ill-thrift.

Tracesure Cu/I boluses release supplementary copper, iodine, selenium and cobalt for up to 6 months. The iodine, selenium and cobalt are released from the bolus by leaching, providing dietary supplementation. Spent boluses become large and fragile. They are eventually shed, intact or fragmented, by being regurgitated or excreted. A proportion of the administered copper oxide lodges in the abomasum of the treated animal. This provides a sustained-release source of copper for absorption from the gut. This steady supplementation ensures adequate copper status but avoids the sharp rises in copper levels which can be associated with copper toxicity.

Dosage and Administration
Tracesure Cu/I boluses are administered orally. Place the 2 boluses at the back of the mouth, beyond the hump of the tongue, using a suitable dosing gun (e.g. the Animax Cattle dosing gun). To avoid injury, the dosing gun should be used carefully and without force. Always check that the animal swallows the boluses.

Dosage:
Animals weighing 200kg – 550kg = 1 application. Animals weighing 550g and over = 2 applications. Where dietary copper is not seriously lacking, one Tracesure Cu/I application, together with one Tracesure-1 application is generally adequate. Each application consists of a green bolus and black bolus.
